Raw, German blues-rock on ‘The Imaginary Horse’ tour!
German twosome The Picturebooks swears by souped-up motorbikes, preferably with a busty, scantily clad woman on the back, luxuriant hair- and beard-growth, jeans, leather, lumberjack shirts and, especially, by impressive single malt-whisky-drenched scorching, raw blues-rock. Their debut ‘Imaginary Horse’ (out since Oct ’14 on America's Easy Riding Records) was canned in the garage where the gentlemen motor-freaks regularly changed the sparkplugs on their metal horses. The result sounds feverish, energetic and authentic with a unique and natural industrial-echo to their sound.
Fynn Claus Grabke (vocals & guitar) and Philipp Mirtschink (drums) met in a skate park and soon swapped their wheeled boards for roaring bikes and freshly oiled rock 'n' roll, inspired by bands like The Smiths, The Cure and Minor Threat. In April this year they deafeningly swept through Tilburg's Roadburn festival and opened for Irish rockers The Answer in Hasselt's Muziekodroom.
This summer the duo tears through the American hinterland to then return to Europe for a seriously oversized end of year tour!
