We have been motivating our visitors to travel to Brussels by public transport for many years now. That’s why, the day of your concert, you can travel for free on Brussels’ tram and metro network with the MIVB Event Pass. Then there’s the NMBS code on your ticket that you can use to purchase a discounted e-train ticket. But what about our own employees? Do we ourselves make enough effort to get to work in an environmentally friendly fashion? We take a look at the home-work routines of 6 of our employees.
1. Yves Wullaert, caretaker, swims from the stairs.
Did you know that there is a beautiful apartment integrated into the AB building? Our caretaker, Yves Wullaert, lives there with his family. Naturally, he uses the most minmal amount of energy of all of us to get to his work: every morning he travels down 17 steps. Even so, he still tries to keep the trip interesting… every now and then he swims down, for example.
This situation is ideal for Yves and he wouldn’t want it any other way. The separation between work and private life remains perfectly possible, despite the small distance.

Eric regularly arrives in Brussels by bike. This is how he stays fit for the annual 1000km for Kom Op Tegen Kanker and he’s entirely awake by the time he starts a new work day. His route Mechelen-Brussels is never boring, you have to stay alert at all times.

At the moment, he combines the tram with a moped, but in exactly a month he will be the proud owner of a brand shiny new model with which he can make his entire journey. He rides on both bike paths and roads and doesn’t feel unsafe there at all. In his free time he even takes his dog Lola – a Maltese & Chihuahua mix - along on his adventures, in a carry bag.
