100% certain the lights go out on The Opposites in AB!
Together with De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, Kraantje Pappie and Gers Pardoel, The Opposites form the foundation of the a Nederhop invasion that's been washing over our Belgian radio stations in recent years. Twan and Willem, not to be swatted from the pop charts of our Northern neighbours since '06 already, scored their biggest hit in Flanders in early 2010 (in the form of 'Broodje Bakpao', which served as soundtrack for the hilarious film 'New Kids Turbo').
With 'Licht Uit' and 'Slapeloze Nachten', the two from Amsterdam eagerly continued to score hits and it won't be any different for single 'Hey DJ' (with which they'll provide a foretaste of their latest EP of the same name, fresh from the press). We certainly remain loyal to their typical recipe for success: eighties beats with juicy rhymes. In February next year these busy bees will launch a new album to take over from their previous one (the double-disk 'Succes/Ik Ben Twan').
In '10 the duo opened TW Classic and "never before did an opening act get the ever easy-going TW Classic crowd clapping so soon" was later to be read in De Morgen. Following further stops at the likes of De Lokerse Feesten, Rock Zottegem, Pukema Rock, Tomorrowland and in Gent's Vooruit, our favourite Dutch party animals now finally return to AB, where they come to launch their new album and ditto live show... and where, most especially, they'll skilfully turn the place upside down.
