"The Domino Festival reached a dizzying new high with The Notwist concert in a loaded AB. For almost tow hours, the German group showed what wonderful things can be created from the fusion of melodious guitar-rock and electronica." (De Morgen, at the time of the latest Notwist visit to the AB)
Without a doubt, The Notwist still belongs to the crème de la crème of what is happening musically for our Eastern neighbours (see also: Einstürzende Neubauten, Rhythm & Sound, the Raster_Noton family,…). Stronger still: They’ll definitely be celebrating their twentieth anniversary (indeed, the band was established in 1989, though their breakthrough only came in 2002 with classic ‘Neon Golden’) in style. Their latest album, in ’08 ( ‘The Devil, You + Me’ ) with associated live-shows, certainly collected commending reviews internationally. To heighten the challenge, The Notwist now head off onto the road with the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. This twenty-member orchestra is specialised in bizarre interpretations of modern jazz and could already be heard on the masterpiece ‘The Devil, You + Me’. Their most recent album ‘Take Off’ was also released via Alien Transistor, the label of The Notwist. The live-première of this unique collaboration already took place in 2008 and it gave them a taste for more. The result: The Notwist & Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra will pick up the thread of this show again, just three more times. Only in Berlin, Paris and Brussels. You know what you need to do ...
