Celebrating the rich diversity of European talent
Join us in EUphoria: our annual music celebration of Europe through music.
In these turbulent times we are living in, we believe Europe could use a little extra dose of euphoria – and music is just the way to bring it!
Each year around Europe Day, AB opens its doors wide open to celebrate European values and unity with the next generation of European artists making waves in the music world.
This is your chance to discover the freshest European artists out there up close in the intimate setting of AB Club before they reach the big stage. This year, we're showcasing a melting pot of talent that reflects the vibrant diversity of Europe’s music scene. Get ready for a fusion of Polish jazz and hip hop with Kosmonauci, soulful vocals from Alessia Tondo hailing from Italy’s Puglia region (right at the heel of the boot), and our very own homegrown Uwase, who will add her dreamy indie-pop to complete this stellar lineup.
The event is organised together with Liveurope, a pan-European initiative supporting music venues to bring a greater diversity of European acts to our stages. AB is the proud founding member and coordinator of Liveurope.
Kosmonauci (PL)
Recently, Kosmonauci has been the talk of town in Poland. This jazz ensemble merges jazz traditions with contemporary influences like hip-hop, drum & bass, and improv. Their composition – featuring saxophone, bass, vibraphone, and drums – creates a distinct sonic style, balancing emotional, lyrical melodies with intricate, polyrhythmic structures. In March 2024, they released their debut album Sorry, nie tu through U Jazz Me Records, a sublabel of U Know Me Records. Unsurprisingly, the entire run of the vinyl sold out in preorders even before the release! They also won the ‘Sanki’ award, organized by Gazeta Wyborcza, which highlights the most interesting acts on the Polish music scene.
Uwase (BE)
Belgian singer-songwriter, guitarist and voice of her generation Uwase is also a producer with enlightened ideas. Her musical universe reflects her most intimate thoughts channeled into an indie pop style. Her music transcends the unexpected by including an appropriate amount of familiarity. The Brussels-based songstress’s unique sound has earned her many awards in Belgium and a recent sold-out EP-release show at AB. This young artist shines with restraint and a certain discretion. Live she performs with two excellent female musicians delivering a fun and mesmerizing show.
Alessia Tondo (IT)
Alessia Tondo is rightly so considered one of the most important voices of Southern Italy. She grew up as a musician and songwriter in a musical folk family, collaborating with important names as Ludovico Einaudi, Goran Bregovic or even Angelique Kidjo. She won “Best world music group in the world” at Songlines Music award 2018 as the singer of the Italian folk band Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. All of this and more leading up to the 2021 release of her first solo album, Sita: a marvelous blend of electronica with live instruments, sang in the rich dialect of the Salento region in the south of Apulia.
Before the concerts kick off, Liveurope is holding a conversation with EU decision and policymakers as well as cultural operators to talk about the place of music and culture in the EU’s future. More info here.
