A literary pop-concert by Hugo Claus (lyrics) and Steef Verwee (music).
With MIRA, JENNE DECLEIR, STOFFEL VERLACKT and TIM VANDENBERGH.
Playing coach : JAN DECLEIR
It contains the only texts ever written by Claus for a musical project. Unpublished work. In public again for the first time since 1980.
In 1979 Hugo Claus set a surprising step. In what was then Ghent's Theater Arena, he created a musical theatre project together with composer Steef Verwee.
Claus provided the text, Verwee wrote the music and together they developed a stage concept.
Today, about 30 or so years later, Mira, actor/musician Jenne Decleir and top musicians Tim Vandenbergh and Stoffel Verlackt get their teeth into that extremely exciting material that has never been performed again since 1980.
The song lyrics that Claus provided were never published.
'Liefste Ellendeling' became an idiosyncratic, contemporary interpretation of the old project.
A literary pop-concert, with as theme the all-embracing love between two people, worded by the most highly prized Dutch-language author.
