Sound-artist presents new work
Jasmine Guffond is an Australian sound-artist and composer. She has been working in Berlin since 2015, earning a Master in Sound Design there. Her albums have been released on labels like Sonic Pieces (Deaf Center, Nils Frahm, Kreng ...) and Staubgold. Her latest album ‘Degradation Loops’ was released on Karlrecords in October 2018. On it, she deconstructed her 2015 album ‘Yellow Bell’ for an art project.
By converting largely invisible surveillance technology into sound, she explores the practical and theoretical potential of ‘thinking through sound’ and the capacity to reveal phenomena outside of the visibly perceptible. Her music draws influences from experimental electronica, drone, techno and avant-garde.
