Icelandic pianist/composer for fans of Hania Rani and Jóhann Jóhannsson
Icelandic pianist/composer Eydís Evensen hails from the remote, 800 (!) person, community of northern Icelandic city Blönduós. Her influences, she says, range from Tchaikovsky to Radiohead to Led Zeppelin. After her debut 'Bylur' (from 2021), she was immediately picked up by The Line Of Best Fit and KEXP. She’s performed all throughout Europe and the US, including important (showcase-)festivals like Reeperbahn, Eurosonic, Iceland Airwaves and SXSW. In 2023, she will hit the road again... with her brand new album ‘The Light’ that will see the light of day later this year (pun intended).

In the press
‘Hugely influenced by nature, her post-classical compositions have grown into works that are immersive, delicate and intensely emotive. She’s able to mould them into a sonic journey that’ll stick with you long after the last note is played.” (The Line Of Best Fit)‘Few artists are so effortlessly able to twist your heartstrings into a contortion of joy, sorrow and despair like Eydís Evensen.’ (Wonderland Magazine)
