Brussels band presents "The Nest" ft. The Ruins Of Beverast, Dread Sovereig en Saturnalia Temple
A Liveurope concert:
The first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European music.
WLVNNST is a musical partnership created by Kirby Michel (Arkangel /La Muerte/Length Of Time), Corvus Von Burtle (Cult Of Erinyes/LVTHN) and Marc De Backer (Mongolito). It proposes a compositional process of guitar loops, repetitive beats, synthesizers keys mixed to darkened hypnotic ambient vocal sounds. Wolvennest's début album (2016), featuring Der Blutharsch and The Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand members Albin Julius and Marthynna as guests and co-writers of the album, was described as a mix of 70's Krautrock sounds mixed with early 90's Norwegian Black Metal, the whole unfolding like a swirling movie score.
Their second album 'VOID' (2018) channels a more dark energy with mysterious vibes, and brought the Nest in the most occult festivals and places of Europe such as House of the Holy, Chaos Descends, A Thousand Lost Civilizations Brussels festival, Roadburn Festival, Sauzipf Rocks Festival, Invoking the Ancient Ritual, as well as supporting acts such as Wolves In A Throne Room, Dool, Electric Wizard, Urfaust and many others.
April 2019 sees Wolvennest performing live the album 'VOID' in his entirety for an unique show on the mainstage of Roadburn Festival, for the occasion featuring an exclusive line up made of Shazzula, Michel Kirby, Corvus Von Burtle, Marc De Backer, John Marx, Bram Moerenhout, DéHà and Alexander Von Meilenwald. All the visuals were made and screened by A Thousand Lost Civilizations, and are part of the Nest since the beginning.
The WOLVENNEST show at Ancienne Belgique on February 29th will be the first of the year 2020, and for this special night the Nest will be joined by close friends and special guests THE RUINS OF BEVERAST, DREAD SOVEREIGN and SATURNALIA TEMPLE.
The Ruins of Beverast is a German extreme metal project formed by Alexander von Meilenwald in 2003.Five albums have been released under the moniker through Ván Records.Since 2013, von Meilenwald has also performed live with an expanded line-up under the band's name; however, apart from occasional appearances by session musicians, he continues to perform all instruments and vocals on the band's studio material.Der Spiegel called the third album Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite a 'highly complex' album and rated it 8 out of 10.The album Exuvia was released in 2017. It was well-received by the metal press, Metal Hammer Germany rating it 6 out of 7, metal.de 9 out of 10.
Dread Sovereign is the born dead brain child of Nemtheanga from Primordial. Years of string hacking and slashing on guitar have finally come to realization as backed by Johnny King (Malthusian, Altar of Plagues, Conan) on drums and Bones (Zom, Wizards of Firetop Mountain) on guitar. The blueprint is rough, raw old school doom / metal which hails of Venom, Saint Vitus, Cirith Ungol and touches of late 80s early sepulchral black metal. Not intended to re-invent the wheel just to give it a good kicking in the true old evil metal fashion.
Saturnalia Temple. A dark Swedish forest at night, while out of the body. Crushingly Hard Electric Blues...doom...occult...dark...ritual...stoner....magic.
