Californian double-bill full of summery indie-pop & dreamy guitars!
Day Wave
Day Wave, the indie-pop/rock alter-ego of Jackson Phillips, is bursting with summery rays of sunshine, dreamy synths & tropical guitars. After excursions as jazz drummer and as electro-pop duo Carousel, the young American found the perfect music to dream away to with Day Wave. Think: an airy version of The War On Drugs or a sweet variant of Wild Nothing, with tasty top singles like ‘Drag’, ‘Wasting Time’ and the new ‘Something Here’. Debut album ‘The Days We Had’ will be out on 5 May via Fiction Records (homebase of Tame Impala, The Amazons, The Maccabees, Mini Mansions, etc.), two weeks later he will bring along the Californian sun to AB. Summer can commence!
Hazel English
The Californian sunshine is apparently full of indie-inspiration, as Hazel English also presents wonderful indie-pop songs full of dreamy melodies that sound like the faded polaroids of a perfect summer. Her debut EP ‘Never Going Home’ was released in October ’16 via the Marathon Artists label (Jagwar Ma, Pond, Courtney Barnett, …) and was produced by best buddy Day Wave. The EP’s title track shot through the blogosphere like a comet. The next generation of indie-pop!
