Hanne De Backer has had much success in the Belgian improv-scene over recent years. She took her first creative steps as a theatre maker at KVS, later focusing more on her sax and music. Aside from her band g a b b r o, she is also a part of Mudskipper and Condor Gruppe, and she regularly plays with other improv artists like The Ex, Paal Nilssen-Love and Ken Vandermark. De Backere’s live sets are always very intense experiences, bursting with energy.

Euphonium player Niels Van Heertum is no stranger to the European jazz, improv/avant-garde scene. As well as working for theatre (Alain Platel), making many solo releases and playing with his own band (Ifa y Xangô), he collaborates with numerous other artists. The best known of these are Vvolk (Book of Air), MikMâäk, Steve Swell, Joachim Badenhorst, Eric Thielemans, Jef Neve, Teun Verbruggen, Riccardo Luppi, Lynn Cassiers, Chantal Acda, …
