Book presentation and Artist Talk about morality, pornography and art
BRDCST is AB’s outstanding indoor spring festival spotlighting musical boundlessness. The name is a direct reference to the retro futuristic electronica-pop of the English band Broadcast that released inspiring albums like ‘Haha Sound’ and ‘Noise Made By The People’ over the past decade. Artists who feel strongly about musical innovation form the focal point for BRDCST. Our musical gut feeling will do the rest.
Performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti is ½ Chris & Cosey and is a part of the experimental avant garde/industrial band Throbbing Gristle whose ’79 album ‘20 Jazz Funk Greats’ is considered to be a classic (the misleading title aside). Prior to that, in the period ‘1969-1976’, Cosey Fanni Tutti – a name derived from the opera ‘Cosi fan tutte’ – was active in COUM Transmissions (that she helped to establish). Their controversial show ‘Prostitution’ – that dealt with the porn and sex industries – was presented in 1967 at London’s ICA (Institute Of Contemporary Art) and even led to debates in British parliament.
During BRDCST Cosey Fanni Tutti will speak freely about her autobiography ‘Art Sex Music’ that deals with morality, pornography and art. The book is released via the prestigious Faber & Faber that previously also published ‘Girl in a Band’ (Kim Gordon), ‘Song Reader’ (Beck Hansen) and ‘Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’ (Wild Oldham).
Admittance is free of charge according to the principle of ‘first come, first served.’
This also applies to those with a Limited BRDCST Festival Pass.
