Wat betreft gendergelijkheid in de muziekindustrie, hebben we nog een lange weg af te leggen. Steeds meer media, festivals en concertzalen berichten en schrijven erover. Het is een hot topic, maar de verandering komt traag.
Achter de schermen zijn er nog steeds weinig vrouwen* die artistieke, productionele en leidinggevende functies vervullen.
Op 7 en 8 maart namen vrouwelijke programmatoren en artiesten de Brusselse locaties Ancienne Belgique, Beursschouwburg, C12, FFORMATT, LaVallée en VK over.
Met ‘Intersections’, een initiatief van het feministische collectief Psst Mlle, gingen10 vrouwelijke programmatoren samen aan de slag met als doel een inclusieve feministische boodschap de wereld in te sturen. En om Internationale Vrouwendag in de verf te zetten.

‘Door samen te programmeren en te communiceren, willen we duidelijk maken dat er anno 2020 nog steeds extra aandacht voor nodig is en het tijd is voor verandering. Zes prominente Brusselse plekken worden het voorbeeld van hoe samenwerking de basis vormt van bewustmaking.
Om deze boodschap extra kracht bij te zetten, gaven we Laisse Les FillesTranquilles de opdracht, de muziekwereld onder de loep te nemen. Samen met hen lanceren we de campagne ‘Create An Inclusive Industry’.
