Zornik, la formation rock emmenée par le chanteur Koen Buyse, sort enfin de la léthargie qu'elle s'était imposée. Le 19 mai, le groupe a sorti son premier single radio depuis fin 2008. Le puissant ‘Walk’ annonce l'album studio à paraître à la rentrée. Pour connaître le titre de ce dernier, il faudra cependant encore patienter un peu.
Après une année sabbatique, quinze mois sans concerts et un dernier opus remontant à 2007, Koen Buyse, Bas Remans, Davy Deckmijn et Tom Barbier ont soif de nouvelles compositions et de concerts. « Cette année sabbatique est à considérer comme le calme avant la tempête car nous sommes plus que jamais prêts à en découdre pour la série de concerts à venir et les enregistrements de notre nouvel album ! »
Au cours des prochaines semaines, Zornik fera la navette entre Los Angeles, où sera tourné le vidéo-clip de ‘Walk’, et la France, où le groupe partira en retraite pour poursuivre le travail sur son cinquième album studio. La présentation de ce dernier aura lieu à l'ABclub, le 28 octobre. Ceux qui voyaient Zornik directement remonter sur les scènes des grandes salles de concert et des stades en seront pour leur peine. Pour la présentation de son nouvel album, Zornik s’offre un retour aux sources, en optant pour l'intimité de l'ABClub où groupe et public peuvent littéralement se regarder dans le blanc des yeux.
Zornik est l'une des formations rock belges les plus florissantes de ces dix dernières années. Après avoir remporté un Mia Award dans la catégorie meilleur groupe et treize TMF Awards, après avoir joué quatre fois à Rock Werchter et Pukkelpop, après avoir enchaîné des centaines de concerts et engrangé des dizaines de tubes radio, un disque de platine et trois d'or, Zornik a démontré, au cours de la dernière décennie, qu’il avait amplement mérité sa place sur la scène rock belge.
