For about five years now, Ancienne Belgique has had about 80,000 industrious additional workers. The roof of our concert building houses two bee hives in which the ABees produce around 30kg of urban honey each year! The AB honey is available for purchase as of Wednesday 22.01 at Ancienne Belgique.
The paths of our ABees through the jungle of Brussels produce a pot of wonderful honey full of tropical flavours. Our bees criss-cross the entire inner city in search of nectar to produce this deliciously sweet honey, from Botanique to Royal Park, over the canal and back to the top floor of AB. An extra reason to populate your windowsill or balcony with flowering plants!
Fun fact: To make one pot of AB honey, our bees need to collect from 2 million flowers.
This sustainable and sweet project at Ancienne Belgique has a positive impact – not only on the urban biodiversity, but also by providing funds for a good cause! A pot of honey costs 10 euro and AB donates the entire proceeds to Kom Op Tegen Kanker.
The AB honey is available for purchase as of Wednesday 22 January, at the reception and in the AB Café. Enjoy it!
