Recently, hundreds of artists took their chances at Sound Track, the course of stages and live opportunities organised by VI.BE and the live sector. Out of all the entries, a jury of experts selected 46 artists to compete in the regional finals in December. For the capital, ADJA, ONHA, Indigo Mango, Ysmé, KAU trio. and Mek‘dr‘dr will defend Brussels’ honour on 19 December AB.
During the weekends of October, Jeugdhuis Alleman (Oudergem), Jeugdhuis 't Uilekot (Ukkel), Jeugdhuis De Branding (Jette) and Jeugdhuis 't Mutske (Laken) were witness to the preliminaries of Brussels’ Sound Track. The audience came in masses to encourage the regional talent of tomorrow. Aside from the wonderful vibe, it was the variety of acts that stood out: varying from goading hip-hop, sultry singer-songwriter, atmospheric ambient to energetic punk. The jury of experts, consisting of music professionals from the region, faced quite a tough task. But the choice has been made.
So… What’s next?!
After their win, the 3 laureates of the Brussels final will begin their tailored trajectory. A year full of personal guidance awaits them. Think: coaching and support from the broader music sector, residencies at music venues, support from graphic artists and photographers, recording time in professional studios, opportunities for shows and foreign showcases, ... Each of them will have the chance to develop at their own pace. What’s more, during the final, Lotto will award a cheque of 1,000 euro to the artist that can call themselves the audience favourite on the night.
