Calling all crate diggers! During this year's edition of BRDCST festival, you can score some fantastic records at SUGAR PIE Records' album stand.
The independent recordstore from Antwerp brings a load of "surprising staff picks" which you undoubtedly will enjoy. To better describe the store and its atmosphere, we asked owner Jan Wygers a few questions:
How would you describe SUGAR PIE Records?
We couldn't describe it better than this spot-on review we got: “Just when you thought your album collection was complete, Sugar Pie Records proves otherwise. Innovative collection and friendly and helpful owners with endless musical knowledge, which makes it a very nice place to dwell. The store stands out due to its professionalism and a collection that is both general and niche."
What is the connection between BRDCST and SUGAR PIE Records?
Just like BRDCST, our shop is like a musical adventure.
Which BRDCST-artists would you recommend?
On Friday, I will definitely attend the rendition of CAN's classic 'Ege Bamyasi' because my colleague from Condor Gruppe is part of the band ànd because Ege Bamyasi is one of my favourite CAN records. On Saturday I'll check out Tom Skinner, ILL Considered and Steve Gunn. And then on Sunday, I'll go to Aya Suzuki, quickly check out MDCIII and the Dwarfs of East Agouza. I'm also very curious about Bloedneus en De Snuitkever and particularly looking forward to El Khat.
