This spring there will again be exciting, danceable & progressive jazz bands on stage at AB!
Our Artistic Director and notorious jazz-lover Kurt Overbergh described it like this: “Jazz sounds more urgent and global than ever! This season, AB welcomes jazz from all corners of the world: from South Africa to London via Manchester to Catalonia via Ghent and New York.”

Wednesday 4 May promises to be a steamy live show with Nordmann‘s sublime, quirky, electronic jazz.
After the online show ‘Chou’ last year, Chassol will be returning on Sunday 15 May with the live launch of his new album dedicated to Brussels: a mesmerising total experience with video and musicians.
On Thursday 19 May we welcome 2 bands from the most exciting jazz label – with punk attitude(!) – of recent years, namely the Chicago-based International Anthem. Chicago Reader summed it up perfectly: “International Anthem brings punk idealism to progressive jazz.”
Alabaster deplume: The Guardian: “One of the most thrilling performances we’ve seen this year; a reminder of how vital and adventurous music can be.”
Anteloper is the rousing collaborative project involving trumpet player Jaimie Branch and drummer Jason Nazary. Live, Branch is undoubtedly an experience: exciting, unruly, and 100% punk.
On Monday 17 June, the best of the London jazz scene invites you to dance with Sons Of Kemet.
Humo captured it best: “This is jazz with the fist in the air, à la ‘Attica Blues’ by Archie Shepp, ‘The Freedom Rider’ by Art Blakey, ‘Freedom Suite’ by Sonny Rollins and ‘We Insist!’ by Max Roach. A great list, sublimely filled.“ It has been noted.
