On Thursday 28/3 (tickets available) and Friday 29/3 (sold-out) , the AB will be shaken to its foundations when Zwangere Guy is in da madafakin building. That means no less than 2 times 2000 people. 2018 was the big breakthrough year for Gorik van Oudsheusden, 2019 will be the year he establishes himself.
Today he’s rehearsing for his shows in the AB Main Hall, the perfect moment to grab him by his hoodie. Because we have a few pressing questions, Zwangere Guy.
A sneak peek, please. What will happen in AB on 28-29/3. What can we expect?
My show won’t only be with DJs, I’ve also hired a well-known banjo player (laughs). I’m really looking forward to it.
Has your life changed much over the past year?
Well, something wonderful happened: I am now a fulltime musician. I’ve been waiting about 8 years for that. I’m still the same old me, of course, but I hadn’t expected that things would go so well so quickly. I’m really happy that I decided to make up-front music, that is appreciated and I’m keeping my feet on the ground. I’ve been able to see a few countries (Japan, America) and I mainly try to enjoy all the moments with whole the family.
What will the summer bring?
No idea actually, I’m trying not to think about it too much yet. I mainly want to focus on the upcoming shows in AB, they’re very important to me. I know everyone there, from madam pipi to the director, I’ve washed dishes in the AB Resto, been sous-chef , worked in the bar. And summer is still a long way off.
Special projects?
We’re going back to Japan and I’ll be heading to Berlin for 10 days too.
Thank you Zwangere Guy!
