Walk: āSkirting the hard and soft boundaries of powerā
A kiosk, a playground, some guinguettesā¦ Brussels Park seems cosy, open and accessible. But donāt be fooled: the area around the park remains a display of hard power, with closed boundaries everywhere. The Royal Palace, the Parliaments and government offices, the embassies and the economic clubs are beyond the reach of mere mortals. Or take the new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis. It claims to serve a city where everyone is welcome, yet raises invisible boundaries that can nonetheless be felt everywhere. Our Brukselgids will guide you past hard and soft boundaries, teetering on the brink by your sideā¦ or taking you just one step beyond.
14:00 to 16:00 - ā¬ 7 pp. Read more here.
