During the last weekend of May, Europe's largest jazz festival will once again welcome you to Brussels.
The sixth edition of Brussels Jazz Weekend puts the spotlight on Toots Thielemans: the 'ket' from Brussels and jazz legend would have turned 100 this year.
Toots 100
Brussels Jazz Weekend is an adventurous trip through Brussels and a musical voyage of discovery. The accessibility of this free city festival connects with Toots' (musical) legacy on different levels. During the Brussels Jazz Weekend, the line-up on the Grand Place will be entirely dedicated to Toots Thielemans. View the full program here.
Flat Earth Society Boggamasta Masterclass Party!
Flat Earth Society Orchestra, flagship of the flunked flank of Belgian jazz, has been surprising national and international stages for more than twenty years now - with programs that invariably burst at the seams, flout genre rules, and amaze listeners with their multicoloured spazz, jazz, razzmatazz.
Frontman Peter Vermeersch and returned original member David Bovée gave form to the central figure of the album, the power-hungry megalomaniac Boggamasta, who drove the willing and eager turbo-orchestra to new heights of musical debauchery and vice. The combination of XL arrangements with that shady behaviour and those growling grooves was enough for a charm offensive that stunned audiences and critics in Europe and South America.
On Saturday, May 28, absolutely free in AB! Tickets & info via this link.
