BRDCST is AB’s brand new indoor spring festival, one whereby we focus on musical limitlessness.
The first edition of BRDCST hasn’t even taken place and yet a tradition has already been born! Namely, BRDCST will set up one project per year ‘on location’ somewhere in the heart of Brussels. An excellent opportunity for our audience to get to know the capital better too. This time we chose the magnificent building that houses the City of Brussels Archive, previously the location of one of Belgium’s largest textile wholesalers, in the middle of the Marolles.
The building complex that currently houses the City of Brussels Archive belonged, until 1976, to the business ‘Jules Waucquez et Compagnie’. The Waucquez family established and maintained one of the county’s most important wholesale businesses in fabric for 75 years.
BRDCST has managed to make the building (and more specifically the future reading room) accessible to the public. To this end, we invited an appropriate act: pianist/composer Michael Price whose debut ‘Entanglement’ was immediately met with much acclaim. Price already cooperated as music editor on blockbusters like ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Lord Of The Rings’, has an Emmy-award to his name, and he has already appeared on stage in the famed Royal Albert Hall. His album reveals a romantic soul, Price: “I wanted to make an album that sounded like a dark, Berlin record store discovery from the 30s. Something that had timeless emotive power, and pre-digital rawness.’ Mission accomplished.
Location: City of Brussels Archive - Huidevettersstraat 65, 1000 Brussels
Please note: due to the small location, the number of seats is limited 100.
