Ancienne Belgique is a vibrant music temple in the heart of Brussels with a passion for young talent and established names. Niche and mainstream. Adventurous and genre-transcending. Through some 400 concerts and projects per year, we do our best to give more than 300,000 visitors an unforgettable experience.
All this is managed by a motivated team of some 65 permanent staff. To strengthen the production team we are looking for a Sound Coordinator.
Assignment
- As Sound Coordinator, you are responsible for all sound-related technical aspects of AB’s concert and project operations.
- You develop a quality Audio Policy. You are up to date with the latest developments within your profession’s field and you know how to integrate these into AB’s operations. You identify and implement innovative and sustainable technologies and materials.
- You analyse to what extent AB can meet the demands of artists and external parties, and you make clear agreements in consultation with the artistic and production teams.
- You advise the artistic and production teams on the technical possibilities in the design and realisation of productions. Doing so with an eye for safety and a quality result.
- You manage the audio and studio teams. You draw up the work schedule for both permanent and freelance technicians. You develop a procedure document that guarantees a uniform workflow.
- You coach and develop the audio and studio teams to maximise their motivation and competences.
- You manage the technical installations of the audio and studio cells according to AB’s quality and safety criteria.
- You check that equipment, products and procedures used comply with safety regulations and you apply these regulations rigorously. You alert employees to possible risks and the necessary preventative measures.
Profile
- You are an experienced Sound Engineer. Experience in managing a team is a plus.
- You have strong managerial abilities. You lead in an inspiring, motivating and connecting way.
- You are a team player who encourages collaboration and can create consensus.
- You are both operationally and strategically strong. You work proactively and solution-oriented, while also thinking long-term.
- You have proven experience in project management, planning and budgeting.
- You have an extensive technical knowledge of audio software (recording, frequency coordination, digital mixing desks) and network technologies. Wireless Workbench, d&b R1, Digico/Yamaha, Dante level 1 & level 2, … hold no secrets for you.
- You have sufficient insight into concert production and knowledge of lighting and video to be able to spar with your colleagues.
- You can express yourself fluently in Dutch, French and English.
- You are familiar with the unique character of the cultural and music sectors. You are prepared to work evenings and in the weekend.
- You have a heart for Brussels, music, and AB in particular.
