Yes! Quite possibly the ultimate prog-rock collective! With the umpteenth new arrangement of players for that unusual sound: still guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White, now with Geoff Downes on keyboards. Possibly even more controversial: now also with Canadian vocal revelation Benoît David, who has a voice that is easily comparable to that of Jon Anderson and was apparently found via the internet in late 2008, in an excellent Yes cover-band.
Is this then still the real Yes? A question that you barely dare ask after an impressive career of at least 40 years and so many literally amazing players like Bill Bruford, Peter Banks, Tony Kaye, Patrick Moraz, Trevor 'Buggles' Horn. Yes especially succeeds like no other in making live music as they like to hear it themselves: virtuoso, uplifting, ... and not just unique in their genre but rather a unique genre in themselves.
This is still the superb supergroup known from 'And You And I', 'Yours Is No Disgrace', 'Roundabout', 'Wonderous Stories', of course also the world-hit 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart', and more … from entirely adventurous albums like 'Close To The Edge', 'Relayer' and Of Topographic Oceans'... For the first time in 10 years, now also with a new CD planned for Italy's Frontiers label!
For those who want to get involved in the inevitable Benoît David debate: they easily address all the pro and contra comments in the Tour Forum section on their Yes World site. How daring! Long live daring!
