Hip-hop talent from Sint-Niklaas is back
There’s been quite a lot of talent to emerge from Sint-Niklaas in recent years but, as far as we’re concerned, Woodie Smalls – aka Sylvestre Salumu – still bears the crown. A hip-hopper so energetic that he raps every stage to shreds. He became widely known with his viral hit Planet Shrooms and has made international furore performing at renowned festivals like South by Southwest and countless others in Europe. His tracks are to be heard in the video game EA Sports NBA 2K18 and more recently in EA Sports Madden '25 too, which demonstrates his increasing influence on the international music scene.
He once began with freestyling, but went on to develop into a versatile artist. Releasing albums like Soft Parade and In Between Spaces, on which he collaborated with artists like Isaiah Rashad. Woodie Smalls continues to captivate audiences with his unique style and dynamic shows. After several years of (relative) silence, he finally returns with new music.
