The Danish (approximately 8 member) group Under Byen has been around for about 10 years now and will (finally) be in the AB this Autumn. Famous Rolling Stone-journalist David Fricke once introduced Under Byen to the stage with: 'Welcome to the best band in Denmark, probably the best band in the world.'. Under Byen - Danish for 'Below the City' - have in the meantime released 3 albums, and just recently (in limited edition) the live-EP 'Siamesisk'. In the past, Under Byen has also worked on filmscores, for theatre productions and on remixes (of their own albums but also those of say, Rammstein). For those who have never seen Under Byen at work: this is something for fans of Stina Nordenstam, Björk, Tori Amos and Sigur Rós!

P.S.: Lovers of Danish music can get their fix in AB again later this year, during the second edition of 'Spot On Denmark' (that last year deliverd the revelation 'Murder') on Saturday 8 November.
Support-act for the concert from Danes Under Byen will be Yuko, a quartet from Brussels/Gent with Kristof Deneijs as key figure. Their debut 'For Times When Ears Are Sore' will be released just after the summer on Debonair Music, the same label that already released Wixel's debut, the same guy that sat behind the dials. Musical references? Grizzly Bear, Efterklang, The Notwist, Radiohead and Piano Magic.
Extra solo support-act for the UNDER BYEN concert on THURSDAY 2 OCTOBER will be, aside from YUKO, the equally remarkable and finely voiced Finn or rather Patrick Zimmer. His just recently released third album 'The Best Low-Priced Heartbreakers You Can Own' is one of unheard of beauty. To be discovered by fans of Sigur Rós. Definitely check out his fine version of Audrey Hepburn's 'Moon River', which we know from the film classic 'Breakfast At Tiffany's'.
