After 25 exhilarating, musically exciting years, Monsieur Paul is leaving Triggerfinger

It was ‘a long and winding road’, Paul explains. ‘Exciting years of hard work and even harder laughter, a time in which three musicians grew closer, a time of colleagues becoming friends, brothers.’

After long consideration, Paul Van Bruystegem made the (difficult) decision to follow a different path, to take on new challenges, to again have the feeling of being able to ‘take a leap of faith’ without really knowing what would happen next. The feeling of being one of three musketeers in the fiercest Flemish rock band for all those years of the past decades, it still warms his heart and he looks back with great pride and gratitude.

Paul recorded five studio albums and two live albums with Triggerfinger, and travelled the world from Norway to South Africa, from Zichem to Tokyo, all the way across Canada and several rounds of Europe.

To close this chapter, Monsieur Paul will take to the stage one last time and play a few final concerts with the band in its original(!) line-up. Not only will they visit our sister venue (Amsterdam’s Paradiso) but, of course, also AB - where they made their breakthrough in 2009 and sold out the Main Hall for the first time.

Public Service Announcement: at the other Triggerfinger concerts in 2023, Geoffrey Burton will take over the bass from Paul.
