Fourth visit, and with new CD, from this playful French singer!
'Un coup de queue de vache', that will be his latest CD on the Believe label at the end of January – with as first, again witty, single: 'Encore cassé.'
It’s already the fourth time that this playful Frenchman drops by the AB, and he’s again more than welcome with his 'fluid fables’. As the CD title already indicates, more 'animal antics à volonté' again this time, in other words: it sounds like all the songs are about a 'pigsty' on a farm, in the broadest sense of the word.
Or: his usual figurative language taken to the extreme, up to and including yet another funny album cover.
Since ‘93, THOMAS FERSEN has about ten CDs to his name, all brimming with original French chanson. But from now on he turns his back on all rules of rhyme or arrangement.
The result should also appeal to more Anglophile fans of, say, Kevin Ayers or Stephen Duffy. Fersen certainly generously delivers that sort of wonderful verse with strings again.
