The Von Durden Party Project contains members from all corners of Wallonia, who met in January 2007. They penned together thirty dirty but energetic rock-songs, selected the best to be recorded in a studio and got to work. Think Danko Jones but equally The Van Jets, A Brand or, why not, Quentin Tarantino - as they've got the right style happening with their short sleeved shirts and yellow ties. Their debut 'Death Discotheque' was released in April, was launched in the ABClub and they'll now complete their tour in the ABBox.
Music is Not Fun is the newest rock sensation amongst our southern neighbours. Just as countrymen BB Brunes or our Tellers, they embrace everything British sounding and make festive, trashy French rock of it. So references like Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles are never far off. Lay your skinny jeans, tie and hair-gel ready already.
We'll be opening with the Walloon power-pop and rock 'n' roll of Elvis Black Stars. Attained a spot on the dais for the Concours Verdur Rock and shared stages with Hollywood Porn Stars.
EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA: Following the concert of THE VON DURDEN PARTY PROJECT, their friends Cosy Mozzy and singer JEAN WATERLOT of MONTEVIDEO will gather behind the turntables for a for a wickid afterparty. The ultimate mix of electro and rock quoi!
Footnote: Thanks to Cosy Mozzy, Jean was also introduced to Compuphonic, and see now: a few days later – on Thursday 19 February to be precise – that project called MVSC will be in the ABBox together with Soldout.
