Songs that feel like Fridays
'Songs that feel like Fridays': that’s how the band from Leuven describes their own music. According to The Lighthouse, Fridays (or rather Friday evenings) are intended to blithely immerse yourself in the night. That can happen with either rousing beats and catchy lyrics or with a heady layering of guitar and synths that at times almost seems mysterious.
The Lighthouse’s recipe turned out to be very successful and a long list of many highlights followed: winner of 'De Nieuwe Lichting 2017', more than 100 shows nationally and internationally (including AB, Pukkelpop, Het Depot, Maanrock, Suikerrock, Muziekodroom, Crammerock and even Sziget Festival in Budapest) and airplay on Studio Brussel, MNM, Radio 2, BRUZZ, PURE FM, etc. After the release of the ‘Joyride' EP in November 2017 – which already provided them with more than 2 million Spotify streams – the guys are now ready to release their album debut upon the world.
Their album 'Whatever comes our way' will see the light of day on 27 September 2019 and it was produced by multi-platinum producer Huub Reijnders (NL). Expect a varied selection of intelligent pop songs that builds on their previous work, but then clearly displaying an evolution into The Lighthouse as mature band. More than ever, the new songs take the listener along on a trip into their universe of sultry summer evenings and wild adventures… but also of despair and growing responsibility, while the youthful years slowly come to an end. On October 26 they will present these songs for the first time as one whole.
