Class, talent and beauty packed into pithy pop songs!
Happy⊠You could easily get a giggle if your name was Reinhard Vanbergen. With Das Pop in the freezer, the songwriter/producer/guitarist managed to get hold of four lively does for new project The Happy. We're now proud to present them to you: on drums, the ever ravishing Isolde Lasoen (who also manages to rein in a certain Daan with her tight rhythms) - on keys, the stylish Charlotte Caluwaerts (sister of soprano Elise Caluwaerts) - on guitar and percussion, femme fatale Naima Joris (who, in a previous musical life, single-handedly maintained the oestrogen level of Isbells) â and, last of all, Janne Vanneste (sister of Steak N°8 screamer Brent Vanneste) on keytar.
Class, talent and pithy pop packaged in debut album âGuilty Pleasureâ. On which, in thirteen songs, The Happy explores every region of the pop spectrum, including strings, sweet vocal harmonies and disco grooves. We're not the only ones to pull out the trumpets of praise when we see all that aural and visual deliciousness pass before us. In De Morgen and on Cutting Edge we read, respectively âA band that profiles itself in pithy pop songs like the indie version of Girls Aloud or the Flemish equivalent of The Go-Go'sâ and âFurthermore, the band can place a number of big feathers in their cap for daring and unbridled adventure; âGuilty pleasuresâ in no way plays it safe â while Humo applauded the album as âfirst-clas popâ.
Support-act Horses will be replaced by Bibles!
Horses passes the support-torch on to the guys from Vincent&Jules (borrowed from Pulp Fiction), who have seen the light and now go through life as BIBLES. Bouncy indie-pop indebted to Vampire Weekend, Sebadoh and Belgium's Team William. The four were selected by School Is Cool in the previous edition of Stubruâs De Nieuwe Lichting and they have already dived into the studio with Floris De Decker from Team William. More than enough infectiousness!
