From now on, British rock band The Cult will be presenting all its work via the ‘Capsule Collection’. No traditional album but all the same: regular releases of new music (in digital format and on vinyl) or film or art. The first litter consists of new songs ‘Every Man And Woman Is A Star’ and ‘Siberia’ (both to be heard on the band's MySpace page), live recordings from their sold-out ‘Love Live’ tour (that also called in on the AB in 2009) and the short-film ‘A Prelude To Ruins’ (directed by singer Ian Astbury).
The new Cult songs were recorded under the skilled direction of legendary producer Chris Goss (Kyuss, Unkle, Queens of the Stone Age, our very own Soulwax) and so it was a small step further to take his band Masters Of Reality (that last year also released the album ‘Pine/Cross Dover’) out on the road with them. Masters Of Reality was initially a part of the Palm Desert scene (see too: the aforementioned Kyuss and QOTSA), so of course people like Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan have all once been involved in the Masters Of Reality line-up.
