Irish post-punkers launch debut album
Alan McGee – founder of Creation Records and the finder of the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream and Oasis – recognised plenty of talent in The Clockworks during a rehearsal and promptly signed the band, without the slightest hesitation. The Irish foursome describe their music as “a punk rock version of The Streets”, but they accept ‘good, raw post-punk’ as a definition too. They’ve appeared at AB before, with great success during Fifty Lab, but now do it on their own to introduce us to their debut.
