2011 simply cannot go wrong for The Bony King Of Nowhere, alias Bram Vanparys. For example, his gorgeous second album ‘Eleonore’ came out this year and was overwhelmed by praise, underlining once again the class of this artist. During ’11, Vanparys also wrote the soundtrack to the film ‘Les Géants’ by the Walloon filmmaker Bouli Lanners. This film’s world premiere was this spring at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and its Belgian premiere will take place in October. ‘Les Géants’ concerns two brothers who are abandoned by their mother and set out on an adventure. The theme may seem a depressing one, but because of the beautiful – often tranquil – images and Bram Vanparys’ lovely soundtrack, the overall impression is almost poetic.
The Bony King Of Nowhere will perform this soundtrack – along with a set of new songs –live for one night only, accompanied by images from the film. Not only is this a one-off performance, it is also a unique one as The Bony King will invite a number of musical accomplices to join him.
Finally: make sure you look your best this evening as this show will be recorded for posterity and released on DVD.
