At last: a decent guitar album. One from the school of indie rock where guitars mean innovative ensemble play and appealing melodies, like Pavement for instance. Surfer Blood thoroughly charmed us at the last edition of the Primavera festival in Barcelona: ‘The first highlight of the festival came in the shape of Surfer Blood … ‘Swim’ should have been a big hit a long time ago, and their great live show was dripping with potential.' This year they had the opportunity to seduce the Pukkelpop audience; this Florida five-piece will win over the ABClub on Wednesday 3 November.
Trio Believo! from Weelde form a fantastic bedlam-band with guts, invention, slightly fedback walls of guitar-sound and a dose of couldn't-care-less attitude. Shoegaze meets power-pop meets garage-rock... as if Hüsker Dü had shared a garage together with The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Stone Roses in order to write songs. Last year their debut album ‘Radical Myths’ was released with the assistance of Zealrecords (Isbells, Marble Sounds) and today they launch their new 7" vinyl album.
