'Crossing Dragon Bridge' must be just about Steven Wynn's 12th solo adventure, not counting the CdD he made with Dream Syndicate and Gutterball or his project Danny & Dusty (with Dan Stuart of Green On Red). A regular to the AB, this time he's coming to play the songs that he wrote in Ljubljana in the studio of Walkabouts frontman Chris Eckman. Eckman forced Wynn to write an album on his own and that resulted in a completely new sound, with the city of Ljubljana providing most of the inspriation. It was only later in Prague that an orchestra was introduced, a women's choir provided the emotions and usual suspects like Linda Pitmon (Wynn's wife) and Chris Cacavas provided the rock touch. Tucker Martine (known from his work for The Decemberists and Laura Veirs) provided the balanced mix afterwards. There was also much attention to strings and arrangements on this record and so Steve Wynn decided to squeeze not only producer Chris Eckman but also 2 violinists and a pianist into the tourbus. An evening to look forward to.

The above mentioned Chris Eckman shall also provide the support-act for this evening. Together with singer Carla Torgerson, Eckman was there at the birth of the folk-and-country-inspired band The Walkabouts, whichnow already has more than 12 albums to its name. They also performed together as Chris & Carla.
Steve Wynn just announced that fabulous keyboard (and guitar) player Chris Cacavas will be part of the upcoming Dragon Bridge Orchestra tour! Cacavas is known for his work with Green On Red, Danny & Dusty, Giant Sand, Steve Wynn and his own band Junkyard Love.
