The hits, the guitar licks and the blues-rock peaks!
Ready for Steve Miller? Well, here come the hits: ‘Fly Like An Eagle’, ‘The Joker’, ‘Take The Money And Run’, ‘Abracadabra’, ‘Jet Airliner’, ‘Swingtown’, ‘Heart Like A Wheel’, ‘Macho City’, ‘(Keep On) Rockn' Me’...
So those were the main 'seventies' successes of this American singer-guitarist. But Steve Miller has been rocking ever since. Two years ago he played live in the Lotto Arena, now finally in the AB where his timeless, powerful pop & blues-rock belongs.
‘Bingo’ and ‘Let Your Hair Down’ were recent releases that apparently have a strong bond with the first 'sixties' period of the Steve Miller Band.
The young Steve Miller (who sometimes had a Les Paul or T Bone Walker unexpectedly delivered to his house) was already playing with Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Paul Butterfield, Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry... at the time! With Boz Scaggs and Ben Sidran in his band too, of course!
Just this little piece of promo from De Morgen: 'Steve Miller plays enduring blues-rock **** Old Joker can still do all his tricks... The 67-year-old American had his guitar sing, cry and scream for two hours long. Until literally everyone was dancing.'
