Coca-Cola Sessions
Steak Number Eight, still the youngest Humo’s Rock Rally winners ever (2008), get back in touch again after a year of silence. Their long awaited follow-up for ‘When The Candle Dies Out’ will be in stores as of 1 March. Production was provided by Mario Goossens (Triggerfinger, The Black Box Revelation) and the album was mixed in Seattle by Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Pearl Jam). The youthful enthusiasts from Wevelgem travelled along to the North American city and played their first live concert of the year there in Studio 7. You could follow their travel diary live on HUMO. What can you expect: a solid guitar sound interchanged with soundscapes that have you dreaming away for minutes on end. Steak Number Eight present melodic post-rock/noise and their music is influenced by the likes of Isis, Neurosis, Pelican, Red Sparowes and Deftones.
Musth rocks your world, burns your eyes and crushes your heart. Their origins are to be found in a mix of hardcore and post-rock but Musth is Musth. In 2009 they worked hard on the debut that found a home on the tasty Funtime label.
Coca-Cola Sessions? Our refreshing structural partner, whose name is hidden in the title, has been providing 9 extra Club concerts to support debuting Belgian talent since the '09-'10 concert season. All for a beautiful and youthful audience. What's more, in the first press release we wrote: ‘Do you already want to discover the performer who'll be closing Herman Schueremans garden party in a few years’? That sentence really did turn out to be visionary, as both Balthazar and Customs already appeared at Rock Werchter last summer.
We've already presented another new series of much talked about Coca-Cola Sessions this season, with sold out concerts by Arquettes, The Tellers, Addicted Kru Sound feat. Selah Sue and Netsky. As of this season, each session will be supplemented by reports, to be viewed on ABtv and Moodio.tv. In the first part of 2011 it'll be the turn of the likes of The Galacticos, Steak Number Eight and Intergalactic Lovers.
