One of the coolest and most innovative bands the UK has produced for ages!
Squid is one of the coolest and most innovative bands the UK has produced for ages. The Brighton-based quintet recently announced the release of their second album 'O Monolith', due in June, and released the first single “Swing (In A Dream)”. Today, they announce the tour where they will unleash those new songs on live audiences.
Squid was formed while studying at Brighton University and consists of Ollie Judge (vocals, drums), Louis Borlase (vocals, guitar), Anton Pearson (guitar), Laurie Nankivell (bass) and Arthur Leadbetter (keyboard). Their live performances soon attracted the attention of press and audiences, who were charmed by their unique sound, somewhere between post-punk and krautrock, with occasional psychedelic touches. From their first album, the highly successful 'Bright Green Field', the quintet threw good manners overboard. Their arty and innovative pop hits the nail on the head and will no doubt please fans of Idles as well as those of Radiohead or Talking Heads. Their second album, 'O Monolith', is full of melody, superimposed sounds and promises to be even more intense and sly. The band is also at Rock Werchter this summer.
