Melancholy electronica pop, between James Blake and Rhye.
He is yet to make his real debut. But this Viennese-resident producer from London is already turning heads. Doing so with not only a handful of EPs (‘Lessons’ as wekk as ‘The Wheel’ and ‘Bloodflows’), but especially his compelling live shows. The most remarkable factor in that is – according to De Standaard – “his wonderful, velvety voice that is great to dream away to.” Add to that analogue drum-machines, subtle synths, elegant sounding micro-beeps and a whispery folk-guitar and you've almost managed to match the unique sound of S O H N.
His talent hasn't gone unnoticed. De Standaard dubbed him “The discovery of Pukkelpop 2013”, he was allowed to remix Angel Haze’s debut single ‘Echelon (It’s My Way)’, he recently worked on a Banks track that adorns the famous BBC Sound of 2014 chart and he is soon to make his true debut on the much-mentioned 4AD label.
Oh, and: be sure not to write Sohn, rather, leave enough breathing room between the letters and spell his name respectfully as S O H N. W O W!
