Tha Doggfather, Snoop Lion, Doggy Dogg, DJ Snoopadelic, Bigg Boss Dogg, … fortunately the number of hits is far greater than the number of nicknames accumulated by Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. In ’92, as protégé of the legendary Dr. Dre, a 21-year-old Snoop rapped the competition into a corner on The Chronic, a must-have in every record collection!

With his laid back, nasal flow (imitated en masse but never equalled) as ‘signature style’ Mr. Dogg has explored various styles, from Gangsta Rap (under the West Coast flag) via G-funk to Reggae as Snoop Lion. He scored a series of hits that are now rooted in collective hip-hop memory: ‘Who Am I (What’s My Name?)’, ‘Still D.R.E.’, ‘Next Episode’, ‘Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang’ and the more commercial ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ (with Pharell Williams) and ‘Signs’ (with Justin Timberlake). At 1,93m he's literally and figuratively one of the biggest names in hip-hop history.

His stop at Pukkelpop ’12 got three and a half well-earned stars from Humo, and De Standaard headlined: “Snoop Dogg with live-band provides the first party at Pukkelpop”, including a lap-dancer and a metres-long rubber dildo.
