Intimate portrait of this American feminist/artiest
Kathleen was one of the pioneers of the Riot Grrrl movement (that underground punk movement / musical genre that popped its head up in Washington DC in the early’90s), the singer of Bikini Kill and Le Tigre, she wrote for various punkzines, and was the one to unintentionally give Kurt Cobain the title for Nirvana’s greatest hit: Smells Like Teen Spirit.
Based on interviews with Hanna, her partner in life Adam Horovitz (Beastie Boys) and the key players of the Riot Grrrl movement, and interchanged with many archive images, we receive a fine image of the time and portrait of a unique artist, her personal life, creative output and battle against a lingering illness.
Admittance is free of charge but seats are limited, so please register via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (making mention of ‘Punk’ in the subject title)
