Saint Levant, born Marwan Abdelhamid, is the son of a French-Algerian mother and a Palestinian-Serbian father. He spent his childhood in the Gaza Strip, but currently lives alternately in Jordan and California. This unique mix of cultures can be heard in his music and makes for an original take on pop music. Arabic, English and French flow together wonderfully and are accompanied by nostalgic but also very futuristic feeling beats. His debut album DEIRA has just been released and he heads out on tour with it.
Saint Levant also recently launched 2048 Fellowship, a programme that financially supports young Palestinian creatives. He is also the co-founder of 187, an initiative aimed at empowering Arab youth through music and art. A unique artist with his heart in the right place.
