Cargo Mas is the new project and music collective encompassing trumpet player Sam Vloemans. He surrounds himself live with a mainstay of 6 musicians, ones who earned their stripes with the likes of Lianne La Havas, Zap Mama, Gabriel Ríos and Guru’s Jazzmatazz. Through the broad expertise and diverse backgrounds of the band members, the collective signs off on a unique sound and quirky mix of jazzfunk, latin, old-school hip-hop and rock-’n-roll. Aside from contributions from the likes of Kobe Proesmans (The Colorist Orchestra), Joris Caluwaerts (STUFF.) and Bruno De Groote (dEUS), on the first full album (release January 2020) there are a number of others featured too. So you can also hear bass-player Ida Nielsen (Prince), trumpet-player Mike ‘Maz’ Maher (Snarky Puppy) and trombone legend Fred Wesley on the album.
This show is free and is a part of the Brussels Jazz Weekend.
