A Late Night Show With ... PIVOT
The Warp label has signed yet another impossible-to-categorize couple of sound architects called Pivot, who are at the moment living on the 'In The Blood' EP: one big chunk of instrumental experimental synth rock. Their album 'O Soundtrack My Heart' will be released at the end of August and Pivot is the ultimate guide for those who can't find their way in the twilight zone between Vangelis, Talking Heads and Autechre. Earlier this year they appeared at the Domino festival, this time concertgoers of the Killing Joke two-dayer can let their tired ears pay a last salute too, on Monday 29 September.
Pivot is no unknown to the AB's Domino festival. Remember the two impressive visits of the Australian trio Triosk (that knows how to ingeniously combined jazz and laptop-electronica)? Triosk-drummer Laurence Pike now also inspires Pivot. In their homeland the debut 'Make Me Love You' received rave reviews like: 'a scintillating debut' (Morning Herald), but music website DecoyMusic also loudly praised Pivot: 'Australia hasn't really seen anything like this before'. Warp was the early bird and signed them immediately. We immediately thought: something for Battles fans.
Free for Killing Joke visitors. Tickets : only presale.
