Melancholy & melody & Robin Proper Sheppard production
First, Horses. Trampling talent that has now completed a first album album, out via Pias in April. Horses is a true band, based around singer-author Bert Vliegen. Very exciting musically, between drowning in melancholy and flares of euphoria. With, as producer, for this Horses debut: Robin Proper -“Sophia”- Shepperd.
Then there's Oscar & The Wolf, with a fine AB track record and now also an international release of their Pias output. This is that very fascinating band based around Max Colombie. Already support to the likes of Warpaint, Ben Howard and Lou Reed. Also prominently present during 'AB sessions': they released the recording of their session as a vinyl single last year for the Record Store Day.
For the first 'AB Sessions Live’, January 2013, according to De Morgen: 'Oscar & The Wolf enjoyed playing ping-pong with our emotions too. Of late, the band has been pottering around with beats and sensual grooves, which has resulted in bounding between the Max Colombie's autumnal sorrow and drummer Claudio Arduini's rhythmic hedonism.'
