New single & album: ‘Return To Dust’
Two years after their highly-acclaimed ‘Firepool’ and their successful visit to ESNS, High Hi puts their nose to the musical window once more. ‘Return to Dust’ is the first single from the album of the same name that is to be released in early 2022. Those who thought that corona would condemn High Hi to lethargy and inertia, think again. High Hi – still the vehicle of power-trio Anne-Sophie Ooghe (guitar/vocals), Dieter Beerten (drums/vocals) and Koen Weverbergh (bass) – navigated nicely through the pandemic, dove into the studio and threw ten tracks on tape. Each and every track with their well-known sound signature: two-part harmonies, apparently happy with a melancholy undertone, the auditory equivalent of an enjoyable tingle down the spine.
