New album 'Best Guess'
A product of the Richmond, Virginia indie scene, Lucy Dacus first came to prominence with the single ‘I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore’, taken from her debut album, ‘No Burden’, released in 2016. She impressed with her disarmingly sincere playful songwriting. In 2018, her second album ‘Historian’ took a more dramatic turn and was also a critical success. That same year, she founded the trio boygenius, with Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. Lucy Dacus's third solo album, ‘Home Video’, is more tender and autobiographical, and was released in 2021. With the release of their first album in 2023, boygenius enjoyed staggering success. They reached number four on the Billboard 200, won three Grammy Awards and played to sold-out houses at Madison Square Garden. Far from resting on her laurels, Lucy Dacus released a new solo album this year. The first singles, ‘Best Guess’, ‘Limerence’ and ‘Ankles’, bode well for what's to come.
