Winner Humo's Rock Rally '22 releases debut EP 'Junkyard
BLUAI is a 4-piece girl band from Antwerp. What started as the intimate bedroom project of Catherine Smet (voice, guitar), quickly grew into a full band with Caitlin Talbut on bass and Mo Govaerts on drums. After the EP was recorded, guitarist Amina Parago took over from Ilayda Cicek (Ila). Despite their different backgrounds and styles, the four of them immediately clicked, on and off stage. After racing through the Belgian music scene by winning the three major Belgian music competitions Humo's Rock Rally, Sound Track and De Nieuwe Lichting and playing countless club and festival shows, it's now time for their first EP: Junkyard Junkyard's sound originates from the need to keep it simple and to translate an authentic live sound to an EP. The songs float between soft indie folk and cutting 90s guitars. They are drenched in hopeful melancholy through broken hearts, road trips towards break ups and fleeting loves.
