Mirrorring is the unique collaboration between Liz Harris and Jesy Fortino; or rather Grouper meets Tiny Vipers. While Liz Harris and her alter ego, Grouper, incline towards the ambient/drone end of the spectrum, Jesy Fortino and her band, Tiny Vipers, inhabit world of dark folk. They come together on the album Foreign Body, which was released by impressive independent label Kranky.
They missed out on the “Best New Music” label on Pitchfork only by the very narrowest of margins (7.9), but the latter did call the album “a resisting piece of art”. Expect an evening of introspective music where the spirit of David Lynch is never far away.
